Life in a Little Boat

You know how when you talk to some people about how they're doing they say "I can hardly keep my head above water."  Well, I've felt like that at times, but I have to say that right now I feel more like I'm in a little boat.

My amazing sister-in-laws put together a huge party where we had a contest to see who could make the best cardboard boat that actually floated.  It wasn't conclusive, but I think ours was the best, and that little boat kind of represents my life right now.

I've got it all together in many ways.  I'm more organized then I've ever been in my life.  I'm living in the perfect house for us in a great neighbourhood in an awesome ward where we already have callings we love.  I don't see us moving very soon (VERY happy about that.) I have my kid's schooling theoretically planned out for the year.  My husband is providing nicely for us.  We are steadily getting out of debt.  I feel good about the relationships I have in my life and my only stress is that there are too many people I want to invite over to get to know better.  Hyrum is getting some outside help for his language skills, so I don't have the burden completely on me.

Basically, I feel like I'm floating, not sinking....However, I do have two mortgages and rent, winter is just around the corner, and other things that make me feel that although I'm in a boat, it's a little cardboard boat that I need to maintain and be aware of.

It may be a little topsy turvy, and some water might leak in occasionally, but as it is, I like my life in my little boat just fine.
